As expected, the Jimmy Buffett concert on Saturday was absolutely fantastic! We were staying with friends of ours who live in the Philly suburbs, so we had the rest of our tailgate group meet us there to get our gear together and make sure that we would arrive at the tailgate lot at the same time. It's essential to have your whole group with you so that your tailgate doesn't get split up! We headed out at around noon and spent the rest of the day drinking margaritas and coronas and having a ton of fun until it was time to walk over for the concert.
It was extremely hot the whole day until it was actually time for the music to begin. At least I managed to get a nice little suntan! Of course, just as G. Love was finishing up his opening act, the thunderstorm that had been brewing rolled in and the sky opened up. The concert was delayed for almost hour, during which time we went and had a drink at the bar. No sense in just waiting around under cover, right?! Unfortunately, it seemed like Buffett had to cut his set a bit, because the concert still ended at 11:00 PM even with the late start. Regardless, we had a terrific time and the music was as always, completely wonderful. Now, onto the good stuff!
Our tailgate neighbor's amazing tray of jello shots
Best Tailgate Tiki Bar Ever!
This one was pretty sweet, too
Are you familiar with Plinko from the Price is Right? Well, here's the tailgating version: Drinko!
Jon and I taking a much needed break in the shade
I tried to convince this crazy, old pirate to take a jello shot with me. He kept whispering to me, "You take it and then I'll take it from your mouth!" EEK!! Creeper! I replied, "You know that's my husband right over there, right?!"
I got a Parrothead tattoo from a Bad Santa type...his method of application was to stick it on and then press his head against your body where the tattoo was to make sure it stuck! Lord, all these dirty, old men!
Here we are at the actual concert...so happy to be there!
