    How Bizarre

After getting home from the gym last night, I ran inside to get Lola to go on our evening stroll.  As Lola and I walked across the street, I noticed a man walking down the hill towards us.  This wasn't just any man, but a man dressed in women's clothing!  I blinked my eyes in disbelief.  Was this for real?  I looked around to see if he was with anyone, perhaps he was the loser of a bet and the winners were around here somewhere snickering, but no, he was all alone!

We made eye contact as he continued his walk down to the sidewalk so naturally Lola and I followed.  I had to get a closer look!  He was of Middle Eastern descent which made me even more confused, because out of all the cultures that are open to cross dressing, the Middle East strikes me as probably the least accepting of this.  His skirt was short (above the knees) and tan, with white embroidery trim, something you would find at Ann Taylor circa 2000.  He wore a fitted, maroon top that didn't match his skirt whatsoever, nor barely covered his stomach. I know what you may be thinking but no, this outfit was not a cultural outfit, not a kilt or a lungi, this was an American skirt!  Made for women!  And judging from the way the top fit him, it was certainly made for women as well!

His legs were completely hairy and unshaven and he wore black sneakers and black men's socks pulled up past his ankles.  No stilletos for this guy!  He was walking fast and Lola and I eventually lost him, but I kept wishing that we would run into someone else just to verify that my eyes were really seeing what they were seeing!  I ran into our neighbor on my way back into our condo and told him, "You are never going to believe what I just saw!".  Amazingly, he got it on his second guess.  Turns out that he saw the man the day prior and was equally as confused as I!  I don't have anything against cross dressers, to each their own, but it was just very bizarre to see him walking about it in our neighborhood.  And for all I know, maybe he did lose a bet!

In other bizarreness (had to look that one up to confirm that it's an actual word!), I blatantly got hit on at the gym last night.  After my workout, while still a sweaty mess, I stopped to read profiles on the wall about some of the new trainers at the gym.  A random guy came up behind me and asked if that was me on the wall.  I happened to be looking at the profile of a very fit trainer who maybe resembled me in the face a bit, so I laughed and said, "Oh no, I'm not in that kind of shape!"  He replied, "No, you're in really great shape!"  In my head I was thinking, "Oh lord!" but I thanked him and turned to walk away.  He followed me and asked my name and introduced himself so I said, "Hi, I'm Katie, nice to meet you, blah blah blah" and again went on my way.

While walking to my car in the parking lot, I heard someone call my name and I turned and it was him again!  He asked if I lived in the area to which I replied yes and then he said, "Oh, maybe we can hang out and get a drink sometime."  I said, "Sorry, I'm married!" and he gave me a pitiful look and an "Aww, man!"  I drove away smugly thinking, "Yeah, I still got it!"  Ha ha.  The funny thing is that I never, ever wear my rings to the gym because they dig into my fingers when I lift, but I actually forgot to take them off last night.  So they were right there, shining brightly in the sunlight and he completely missed them!  Ahh, men.  Jon was not as amused :)
